BEFORE & AFTER: DESIGNING A YOGA STUDIO
What was once a stark industrial unit is now the home of Stretchy's: calm, bright and designed to ground your nervous system the moment you walk in. We handled everything from layout planning to sourcing and styling.
At Sanct, we believe space is more than structure, it’s a feeling. So when we first walked into this metal workshop, we didn’t just see concrete floors and roller shutters. We saw possibility. Here’s how we turned an industrial shell into a soft, bright studio for movement, stillness, and everything in between.
Before
1
We replaced the industrial shutter with large new windows, flooding the space with natural light. Aluminium frames gave a clean, modern edge, while ribbed glass allowed for soft, diffused light and privacy. Translucent panels and internal glazing help light flow throughout, with minimal, warm artificial lighting used only where needed.
Letting the Light In

To counteract the harshness of concrete and metal, we layered the space with warm oak flooring, soft textiles, and curved furniture. White walls kept things bright and spacious, while black-framed doors added grounding contrast. Plants and thoughtful design details added life, softness and soul.

Creating Zones for Flow
We designed distinct zones; practice space, welcome lounge, storage and rest, without breaking the openness of the room. This makes the studio feel both expansive and intimate, letting students move effortlessly from arrival to Savasana.
